1-Day Workshop:
Acting For Everyone!

Whether your student is a beginner or has some experience, this class is for anyone who wants to stretch their wings and explore acting!
During this class we will introduce your young performer to the basic fundamentals of acting and a range of collaborative skill-building such as working as a cast, diction, comedic timing and exploring character choices. Fun and educational theatre games will play a big part of the learning experience.

1-Day Workshop:
Fosse Dance Class – Magic to Do!

This dance class will feature choreography and moves inspired by legendary director and choreographer Bob Fosse. During this class, we will learn techniques and combinations that Fosse is so famous for. We will include how to dance with a prop that you can take home with you, and young dancers will enjoy learning the fundamentals of Bob Fosse’s signature style. For anyone pursuing a performing future in musical theatre, exposure and understanding of Fosse’s fundamentals is highly valuable. All levels welcome.

Week 1 (registration closed)
Day 1 – ACTING – Improv exercise/game, and scene/character work – focus on understanding intention in scenes
Day 2 – SINGING – Vocal exercise/game, learn a short song and harmony with a group, how to mark music, how to choose song that’s right for you and make it work for your voice and ability
Day 3 – DANCE – Warmup exercise, learn new combination, learn how to handle more advanced techniques and how to learn choreography faster, and to stay safe and healthy when dancing
Week 2
Day 1 – ACTING – New improv exercise/game, and scene/character work – focus on learning to react and listen in scenes
Day 2 – SINGING – New vocal exercise/game, learn a short song and harmony with a group, and about storytelling through lyrics and presentation
Day 3 – DANCE – New warmup exercise, learn combination, learn to improve technique, discover headful techniques for audition and performance success and to stay safe and healthy when dancing
1-Day Workshop:
Instant Improv (Comedy & Improv Workshop)

Improvisation is acting without a script. Improv creates a fun environment for students to explore their creativity; develop social and communication skills; increase self-confidence; and practice public speaking and teamwork.
*Learn how to “find the funny” in a scene or line
*Strengthen skills to work effectively with a partner or solo
*Take away tips and techniques to continue developing your comedy and performance skills and to apply in both performing in everyday life

1-Week Workshop:
Passport to Adventure

Celebrate music, dance, language, art & stories from around the world! A great foundation for appreciating the diverse cultures all around us. Each day we will learn how to say hello & goodbye in the language of the country we are studying, do an art project or learn a fable and of course there will be song & dance! A fun way to learn, explore and make new friends!
In-person, located in Midtown Manhattan. AhHa!Broadway is following CDC Covid Guidelines to ensure the safety of our students. As they may change over time, feel free to contact us to clarify the current requirements we are following.
Spring Break Camp will be located in the Times Square area near most subways. We will be notifying all participants of exact details and pertinent information next week after registration is completed (registration closes April 10th).
The venue will be established indoor rehearsal space. An example of one we have used previously is Ripley Grier. Once we know the exact number of participants, we will have the specific details for families.

Return to the Era of Yesteryear and tune into a fun-filled recreation of a 1940’s radio show! Students will take part in every aspect of recreating these fun-filled episodes, including sound effects, dramatic voiceovers, jingles and commercials. The Fabulous Forties will be introduced to your child through scripts and music transcribed from the original broadcast recordings. These virtual classes will be held over three days, in two-hour sessions — with a final performance the whole family can enjoy!

Your child will learn about the music, fashion, radio and pop culture of the Fabulous Forties and how it still influences our lives today.
The students will learn how to collaborate with each other to produce a ‘radio show’. Learning how to use your voice is a fundamental building block of performing. This program focuses on strengthening their diction, acting and singing skills! Students will learn how to shine as a performer even when a physical stage isn’t present.

We will discuss period costumes that students can easily put together at home from items they already have, and will help create a performance day ensemble to be worn for the virtual performance.

We will provide lyrics and teach popular songs of the 40’s to be performed the day of our virtual performance. The songs will be a part of the Radio Hour, brought to you by AhHa!Broadway!
