AhHa!Broadway 1940’s Radio Hour For Kids

Return to the Era of Yesteryear and tune into a fun-filled recreation of a 1940's radio show! Students will take part in every aspect of recreating these fun-filled episodes, including sound effects, dramatic voiceovers, jingles and commercials. The Fabulous Forties will be introduced to your child through scripts and music transcribed from the original broadcast recordings. These virtual classes will be held over two weeks, three days per week, in one-hour sessions with a final performance the whole family can enjoy!

Educational and Unique!

Your child will learn about the music, fashion, radio and pop culture of the Fabulous Forties and how it till influences our lives today.

The students will learn how to collaborate with each other to produce a radio show. Learning how to use your voice is a fundamental building block of performing. This program focuses on strengthening their diction, acting and singing skills! Students will learn how to shine as a performer even when a physical stage isn't present.

Fun scripts, commercials and jingles!

-Old-time radio ads and jingles for products like Bromo-Seltzer and Jell-O!

Classic 1940's Radio Episodes from Authentic Scripts Such As:

-The Bickersons (great two-person comedy)

-It Pays To Be Ignorant (entertaining variety hour)

-The Shadow (classic drama)

-Ellery Queen The Armchair Detective Mystery Minute (fun for everyone)


We will discuss period costumes that students can easily put together at home from items they already have, and will help create a performance day ensemble to be worn for the virtual performance.

Popular music of the 40's

We will provide lyrics and teach popular songs of the 40's to be performed the day of our virtual performance. The songs will be a part of the Radio Hour, brought to you by AhHa!Broadway!
